We normally stay over the weekend but the weather forecast was poor so we didn't book. However, Saturday looked promising so we were up and off by 06:00 and were eating a bacon roll on the front at 07:30 in the cold sunshine. It stayed fine all day, you could see the I.O.M. from the top of the Orme. We went on the field to look at the trucks, then around the town chatting to old friends while they prepared for the procession. As we stood taking photo's, some of the engine men were waving at us and the little crowd around us thought we were experts and we ended up giving a commentary on each engine that passed by. In the evening we were invited to go on the road run to Conwy on the 1948 Foden 2 stroke bus, calling for fish and chips on the way back. Overall a great day out.
