There was a reason posted last year...but it still seems a bit odd.

I have asked it seems there is no steel wheels allowed in the town so they will not have my Aveling on strakes !!! but then Allen Eaton Fowler went so I think it depends who you are and what you have !!!!

Have to see if Alistair or Tony would be allowed in with rubber boots on their rollers...

I have never understood the set up at Llandudno. I can understand that they don't want steel on the roads but there is a "separate" rally on the fields above the town where the trucks, tractors, stationaries, stalls etc are located. It is a big field and it would be great to see some steam engines on there, be it rollers, other steel shod engines, more minatures and so on.
I don't know if it's the same committee or not but I'm sure for the size of the town, more could be done. I also got the impression this year that there were not so many additional 'street theatre' acts. Maybe someone who exhibits there could comment? Don't get me wrong, it's a great event but it seems to be lacking given the potential. |
