As far as I know, Goliath was painted by Alan Painter for Frank Lythgoe. Looking at it at Castle Fraser it has been touched up in places, some of it looks new- particularly the normal areas of black, smokebox, chimney firebox sides. The rest looks well cared for and has a nice patina to it. Surely testament to a good job in the first place?
