Had a great weekend at SC, a little different to previous years perhaps & all seemed a bit quiter than usual on the Friday & Saturday day but more than made up for by Saturday evening & Sunday when the sun came out and everything came back to life. Commercial vehicles line up this year was fantastic, but the steam section was very goood too despite the issues with passes etc.
Mooched over to the (faintly terrifying) bar & adjacent (much more sane) beer tent Saturday night and the atmosphere was lovely- busy without being manic, and a nice selection of engines parked up and ticking over. No silliness, just people enjoying themselves- cracking stuff. My girlfriend took the opportunity to wave her camera around a bit, so thought I'd share a few of the results.
Adrian Shipton was kind enough to invite us for a run around the steam arena on Fowler 15813, the first time I've been on road steam in a long time and something I very much enjoyed- thanks again Adrian!
