The one we've done for Nigels engine is one sheet, and is laced up at the front. Im know it's (probably) not as per full size practice, but it completely covers the engine, only the chimney is outside.
I know that it would be nigh on impossible to have a single fitted sheet in full size, this one is heavy enough, but as you say, do-able on your own.
Does yours (on the Burrell) come around the front? I was unsure if this was the done thing, but we decided on it anyway.
