I agree, it certainly "looks the part" but how much of it was made by Fowler's, from your list above it sounds like just the cylinder block ?

He should be concentrating his obviously very good engineering skills on producing new builds instead of conversions. Just my 2p worth.

I may be wrong but I think you will find Crankshaft flywheel and most of the motion along with brass boiler fittings came from my shed !

I have never seen a detailed history for the engine either, interested to know more. Did it go to Ireland new? I understand it was used as a showmans engine for part of it's life, there was mention on here of it being restored as a showmans engine. It is listed in the fairground heritage trust list as having showland owners but they don't say with which family. I didn't see anybody around the engine at Pickering to ask.

Here is a picture of the engine I have found as it was sold at the auction, I believe it was originally posted on TT but since disappeared. Interesting to note what little they started with:

Owned by the same gents that now own the Gyrotillers from Ripon.
Its a lovely engine and a lot of hard work has gone into it over the last couple of years.

Reading the thread about it more closely I understand it was sold with a cylinder:
