Here we have a single Eli Griffiths Sprung mounted rear lamp.
What better way to describe it than a copy of an original 1921 catalogue entry from TT's library.
The lamp itself came to me more or less as is with another I have kept.
It has been 'restored', with a replacement bezel and red bevelled glass, and at least a bottom to the oil tank. Also a paint job with some thick gloopy paint. The bullsye on the side is not wonderfull and could do with replacing.
I have fitted a burner as it was missing and lengthened the handle on the burner to suit, Also touched up the odd chip in the paint.
As you can see from the photos, the lamp is good to go. Fit straight on an angine, fill with paraffin (or colza oil!) and off you go. I have even trimmed the wick for a nice flat flame.
