![]() If you dont have any luck on the site suggested i have looked into making these. They are not the easiest things to remake as they are made up of several diferent sections of extruded material. The early ones were brass but obviously the war meant they had to made from steel hence they dont last as well as the brass ones. They are similar to the screens on the civilian vehicles which is what we have.
If you look at Vintage Supplies they have the brass section you will need, its very expensive and you will need to mill off the unwanted bits. You will need to source the hinge material, you may even have to make it! The window stays, runners and locking nuts will all have to be made too. A good CNC plasma cutters may be able to knock 4 out for you. Its tedius, consumes time and money but it should get you the screens you want. A friend had a quote from a screen maker several years ago for £800 to make some for a Showtrac. Trouble is you have to pay 1920s car restoration prices if you want it done professionally. Let me know how you get on. Dave |

![]() Thank you very much for the help, i will try the website and see how i get on. Failing that it would be fun to try making one. I doubt the owner would want to pay £800 for one though, as the whole vehicle did not cost much more than that, lol!
Will post a pic once its sorted. Thanks again Ryan |

![]() Believe it or not its owned by 2 lovely chaps who are! how can i put this politely! very careful with there money and bought the showtrac long before the prices went stupid!
I was looking at my screen today and the top hinge could be a problem! Getting 2 extruisions could be costly. Let me know what you think. I may get a quote. That was what stopped me before i recal. |
