Steam Generator
I am now selling what was going to be my next project, but two more have jumped the que, so here she is. A 1939 Belliss & Morcom self lubricating Compond stationery steam engine built to run the Pshyco hospital in Castlerea, Erie. Coupled to it is a large Laurence Scott & Electromotors open brush alternator rated at, 380 volts 3 phase @ 600rpm. 50kw output, 50 cycles. Coupled to this is a smaller exciter. The larger alternator is around 3ft diametre. The whole setup is 11ft long, just over 6ft tall and just under 4ft wide. It is all still on its cast iron base plate and I reckon it all weighs around 8 tons. Everything is there, including lots of brass fittings, oilers, taps etc. It comes with its original operators manual from 1939. I am only the second owner, the first being the Irish heath authority. I was intending to put it on a short lowloader with a canopy over the top and lights round it, but I have not got time for everything.. It would make a good exsibit at a rally, You could power the whole field with this, get your coal allowance and get free beer from the tent for your troubles. We have a 15 ton crane to help load it and we can deliver it for the cost of fuel. I am looking for £10,000 sterling for the set. If I can work out how to place pics I will. You can phone me on 07967 266405 if interested. Thanks.
