Organised by local haulage firm and lorry collectors C. S. Ellis, the Rutland Road Run is this year celebrating the Ellis firm's 80th anniversary.
The run will mainly consist of vintage commercials though I understand there will be at least one steam wagon (waggon?

) doing the main route, which leaves Uppingham at 10 am on the Sunday morning and takes in Stamford, Oakham (with a stop at the County Museum which has loads of agricultural machinery interest) and back to Uppingham for around 1-2pm where there will be a display both on the recreation ground and in the market square.
For slower engines and tractors there will be a shorter road run on the Sunday morning from Ellis' premises at South Luffenham to Uppingham, via the village of Seaton which means there are some good hills. I am not sure of exact steam numbers but Robin Williamson's big Fowler will be there as will myself with Village Queen. Should be a great weekend.
