Default Battlefield Line - Market Bosworth Rail Ale 2013 - Full Size Engines Wanted :)

Hi everyone

The Battlefield Line is holding its Real Ale Festival over the weekend of July 26th - 28th 2013. As part of the weekend we will have Dr Busker performing on both evenings in the Market Bosworth Goods Shed, as well as 40 real ales on offer and an intensive mixed traction service on the Battlefield Line! Traditionally the Ale Festival attracts Full Size Road Steam. Already we are expecting two Aveling & Porter Rollers ("Louise" & "Titanic") and, as last year, we hope "Elsa" will bless us with her presence. Any full size road steam is welcome, and please contact the railway or pm me for the organisers details if you see fit. We would love to have any full size engine. Please come along and enjoy a tranquil weekend in Leicestershire enjoying real ale, live steam and mixed railway traction! .

We are planning to road Pedler over on the Friday and back on the Sunday. Looking forward to the event, visited last year but without Pedler.

A little more about this event...

The event runs Friday evening to Sunday afternoon and on Friday evening Dr Busker will be performing. There will be 40 real ales to try over the weekend so don't go thirsty! From Saturday morning onwards the railway gets in on the action too. There will be an intensive, mixed traction service on the railway over the weekend, with steam haulage provided by the huge GWR 2-8-0 Heavy Freight No3803, and diesel haulage by...and as its the organisers favourite...at least the 47 and probably something else too. Saturday afternoon there will be folk music at MB Goods Shed and Dr Busker will perform again on Saturday evening. On Sunday the railway will again be in action and the beer will still be flowing.

We have had a few enquiries from full size engines and we hope for a small but impressive line up. If anyone would like to join us with a full size traction engine, steam roller, showmans or steam lorry then please contact us for details and enquiries. We'd love to have you!
