Default Cast Iron Seat

Looking for a cast iron seat suitable for a traction engine.

I'm not loking for any particular make, as long as it will look right.

Does it have to be cast Iron, because the Std Fordson seat is a good one and widely available.

I would prefer a cast seat, rather than a pressed steel one. (I already have one of those and it doesn't look quite right).

I paid about £25 for the one I've got tucked away in the garage. I wouldn't advise paying much more than that. Could of got one which was identical to the Ruston's seat, but that had cracked severely. I'd have a look round the stalls. There is usually a stall with one or two implement seats on. They aren't the comfiest of things though Nick. Doesn't your cousin have one for the Garrett you could make use of? He won't need it in a hurry!

And leave the one alone thats near you!

It has provision for fitting one so keep an eye out for a seat. Not cast iron though.

Is this seat you're after for a certain Foster??

By the way you've forgotten to specify the "MBS" - maximum bum size!

I heard rumours that Nick's intending on single maning the Foster. So does this mean your joining us on the Cromford run Nick? On your own though?

"THE" Foster has a seat of a lawn mower, much better than one of a horrible nasty agricultural machines arse rests, Dave's is padded and has a back rest, it also has a wipe clean surface for those that brake there virginity to the high speed steam tractoring division.....
