Default Great North Steam Fair, Beamish Museum 17th April 2011

Had a great day in near perfect weather at Beamish Museum. Made several new friends and many long conversations
Ex-White Bros, Cardiff Burrell Scenic Winston Churchill


Durham registered RS&J Northern Star, a long time member of The Stafford Family





A McLaren that did not make it to last years McLaren Gathering at the GDSF. A repatriated example from New Zealand now resident in Lincolnshire and painted in a very dark blue

Towing a Marshall 8ton trailer


Also present though not photographed, I saw Roy Wakefield's Mann tractor "Brinkburn Lass", Borthwick's A&P roller Ayesha, Resident Fowler DNA roller "Rambler" and Thompson's Foden "Cestria". Most of them being driven round the whole site via the circular road and sometimes visiting the Colliery Village.
Other steam at the event included the following:-

Ex-LNER Class Y7 running the passenger service from Rowley Station


2 foot gauge Kerr Stuart "Wren" class Peter Pan


Head-Wrightson "Coffee Pot" seen in the colliery yard. The steam winding engine in the pit head was also in steam



Fletcher-Jennings "Captain Baxter"


While tucked away in the shed was long time preservation candidate "Malleable No.5"
