![]() NATIONAL TRACTION
ENGINE TRUST June 2025 Newsletter Image description Appleford 75th Anniversary event Image description Image description You may be aware that 75 years ago a rather well publicised race at Appleford helped to kick start the steam movement. Shortly afterwards the National Traction Engine Club (now the NTET) was formed. We have therefore decided to work closely with the organisers of the Appleford75 reunion event which will see engines which attended previous Appleford rallies in attendance. There is a big push for exhibitors and the public alike to come in period clothing, to keep modern vehicles away from the exhibition area etc to facilitate photography. We are keen to see as many members there as possible and will ourselves be celebrating 75 years of steam rallies and 71 years since the formation of the club. We have secured members a 50% discount on entrance cost (on presentation of a current membership card) and free entry for steam apprentices. Appleford75 is taking place on 21st and 22nd June at OX14 4PH. Full details can be found at appleford75thanniversary.com We look forward to seeing you there Regards Rob Wing Chairman of the NTET Paul Stingmore Chairman of the SAC |

Hope that helps. I hope within the next few weeks, either online or via magazine (Old Glory and Vintage Spirit), we'll get an idea of how many expected engines will be at the event

![]() I'm very much looking forward to what should be a very special event.
I have tried and failed (twice) to buy tickets online. On each occasion, when I get to 'click the submit payment button' it comes up with a message box in the middle of the laptop screen which reads: "Sorry, an error occurred processing your card. The message was: browserDetails.language size must be between 0 and 8" I've never seen anything like it, of course. Pre Booking for an event like this to skip the queue would seem like a good idea! |
