Yes, like steam rallies, smaller, more intimate events like this can often be more enjoyable than the ones with lots of engines and many visitors.
As for the SPC's organisational prowess, then their occasional 'Great Challenge' events are extraordinary spectacles.

The last two have been held in association with the National Ploughing Championships, not least because there are few venues that can offer sufficient suitable land to plough.
