I have bought pattern letters from John Burn which were the cast lead ones. They are very good. The only problem is you have to buy each letter in a pack of ten which can get expensive depending how many you need.

For the most recent pattern I needed I used Plastic ones which are about 3/8 but other sizes are available.

They were from,
Slaters Plastikard Ltd http://www.slatersplastikard.com

I tried to upload a picture of them but image upload doesn't seem to be working for me at the moment.

This was the finished result. They are more than suitable for a small run of castings and cost very little.

Was just looking on there web site, can not see 10mm sized number do you no what part number you order?

Sorry, those ones shown on the casting are listed at 6mm high (but look bigger) Ref 1106

I still can't upload a picture of them for some reason, just goes to a blank page.

As a guide, the nut in the picture above is .820" across flats.
