I have a Magnatron MB 30 which I bought with a burnt out motor - is yours this model? I replaced the entire drill assembly with an Hitachi D13 - see below. I removed the side and rear handles and it bolted straight on to the magbase slide - same hole spacing etc.
A brand new D13 drill cost me £75 on EBay, although I looked now and the cheapest I could see is £125. Cheers Carl.
