![]() Quite a lot of 'timber' engines ended up on blow ups on the front.
I have always assumed this is because my experience shows me that engines tend to be very heavy on the front and dig in when the going is not good. I would have expected blow ups to improve matters, they are usually wider and would present a larger area to spread the load. Not only that but they would provide buoyancy!
