Am I right in saying this is a convertible and does anyone have any history of this engine '

According to the programme: "1916 Aveling & Porter 8679 (BT 8812) New to East Riding County Council. Exhibited in its roller form for 2 years. Due to cracking in the headstock casing it was converted to a traction engine. Owner: Steve Corston, Lusby."

Looked like it had been dragged from a hedge backwards, quite literally! But looked to have oil in all the right places and running ok.
