I just thought, The fields at Dorset are stubble for quite a lot of it, I wonder if the compaction of the ground causes the farm any issues? That said the use of the land and rent probably far outweighs the drop in productivity due to Ground Compaction.

There is apparently compaction, particular in the playpen area and where the showman's engines stand. A certain amount of subsoiling has to be done in those areas I gather. Work is done by contractors as it is the responsibility of GDSF. Your comment re rent etc is probably accurate too!!
