Copper coil

Does anyone know who can make a copper coil? it needs to be made of 1/2" tube with a diameter of 5" and 30" in length excluding the ends, and close coiled.
One end needs to be straight at 3" long, and the other end needs to be 90 degrees at 3" long.

make one your self, buy the pipe, anneal it, fill with sand (prevents kinks) and bend up, you making a windemere kettle?

It's for an experiment but nothing to do with distilling.

What type of sand would you use ?? any special type or just normal sharp sand ??

no you want dry fine stuff builders would do, sharp would be too coarse, plumbers used to used to pack it in and it stops the pipe collapsing and kinking, similar to the pipe springs you can buy and wind up the inside, but sand was used for a long time before and when bent will wash out.

We just made up some feed water heater coils from 1"od 10gauge copper 12 foot long. The trick is to braze on a stopper one end, braze on a nut the other then anneal the pipe. Fill with 30 down kiln dried sand, from builders merchant. Tap it down then wind in a bolt to compress the sand. This will stop it collapsing when bent.
