![]() In a change from our usual monthly 'Noggin and Natter' evenings held in Bury St Edmunds, the East Anglian Traction Engine Society were pleased to accept an invitiation from Simon Webb to visit his premises and inspect his collection of steam and vintage equipment
Many of us had already been to the yard earlier in the year for the Sudbury Road Run. The road run apart from being great fun also raised £450 via various activities for the Megan Roper appeal. Megan is a young girl with crippling disabilities and her charity was felt to be a most worthy cause for the clubs efforts. The opportunity was taken during this return visit to present the cheque to Megan & her family. After a short speech by club president Keith Honour, Kevin Baldwin (the road run organiser) made the presentation. With the presentation over the sizable group in attendance where then conducted around the yard to view the Webb Family's Collection. A good time was had by all and the club is greatful to Simon Webb and team for their hospitality as well as everyone who participated in the road run for helping to raise such a respectable amount of money The next club night (Wednesday 12th December) will also be a visit - this time to Johnatham Wheelers Windmill in Bardwell, Bury St Emunds. Please see the events section for more details. This report and more photos are available as part of the EATES monthly email bulletin, which is free to members and non members alike. To join the mailing list send your email details via pm or email to adam.m.brown@hotmail.co.uk. The club will not contact you with anything other than the bulletin or share your data with any third party. If you wish to be removed from the bulletin email list, simply ask and it will be done within 14 days Kevin Baldwin presents the cheque for £450 to Megan Ropers mother Tuxford Portable Foden Tractor 'Mighty Atom' Robey Tri Tandem boiler Burrell Showman's 'Margaret' on the Sunday of the Sudbury Run |
