Always a good line up of engines at Lincoln with lots of interesting exhibits but it is a 'stationary' engine rally - nothing moves apart from the ring parade. Come to Old Warden and you will see engines moving under their own power throughout the day and into the evening.

Why is it some rallies have engines moving about and some have them confined to their peg?

I wouldnt say that nothing moves at Lincoln, just not allowed to use the permanent road ways, as far as im aware this is a ruling laid down by the showground owners.
