Default North Rode Rally

Just heard there is a good possibility that North Rode Rally this weekend might be cancelled due to ground conditions...If you have not had a phone call from the organiser I would advise contacting your section steward before starting off !.

Cheers

Could you keep us up to date as we are planning to go. The forecast for the weekend is not bad.

I rang the organisers around 5pm and was told the steam engines & PA system had been cancelled but the rest of the rally should still carry on!

I wonder if the steam men are going to do something else, like a pub run or something? I can't imagine they will be happy to do nothing. . .

Just been for a ride past and the event has a few stalls, tractors, lorrys & lots of mud, but little else so I'm glad I did not get up early to go for the day, I cant understand why its not been cancelled totally, to my way of thinking it will do more harm to the event trying to do what they have than if they had cancelled.

That was my imagination of the rally exactly considering the weather all week... It's a shame really because it's normally a great little rally with a good atmosphere and it has not been good for us exhibitor's at all this year so far !. Where's "Summer" .

Cheers

Yes its normally a great little rally but I fear it may have done more harm than good by running it!

We were going to take a ride over tomorrow morning hoping it was better that reported earlier but having heard your comments, we'll give it a miss. My nephew said he saw a TE with trailer heading for Holmes Chapel and I was wondering if it was one that had turned up at Rode and gone home.

Messrs Staton & Dibnah and Miss Woodcock were up that way with Mr Statons roller today. I'm told getting the engine close by ready for the 1000 engine rally.
