Default South Molton 3rd June 2012

For those that were unable to attend a selection of the photos taken at South Molton on Sunday. Well worth the trip to see 3903 on her first appearance in many a year, a small but very friendly day out and the rain held off or at least whilst I was there.

Nice pictures Peter, it was certainly a bit damp yesterday... Although we managed to get some combing done (I seem to be cowering from all the flying straw and dust!) We had a much better day saturday and it stayed nice and dry until we left on the pub run, when the heavens decided to open!

Some of the early arrivals:

Burrell 3903 next to running mate Wallis 7294 after finishing on the road:

Busy working section:

Royal Chester certainly barked on the bench!

Some interesting minatures and the rest of the engines:

Pub run in the rain!

No.3956 'Pride of the Road' of 1923. New to Joseph Coles & Sons of Gloucester and spent her working life there.

I've got a feeling she's fitted with a unique type of scarifier, but I'm sure someone will know better...

Yeah, they're great! The owner still has all the gear to convert both back to rollers too I believe

The Burrell is spot on , exept for the usual trouble of Burrell safety valves not closing properly !! Anyone got a remedy!?
A good little rally & a great atmosphere in the beer tent on Sat night. (after I'd changed my clothes!)

The owner of the convertibles told me two years ago at the Chapelton Rally (2010) that he had the rolls for both engines and that he was considering doing the conversion for the 2011 season. Evidently, he has changed his mind.
