It is a good event. Plenty going on. I posted some pics last year. The fig pie rolling is a bit of English eccentricity that's worth preserving.

It clashes with a few other events but there's 2 days in a weekend so we will be there.

Where/what is the event held at David !.

We don't have anything on that weekend as we have not booked every weekend like before for this year...so could be a good day out !.

Cheers

The event is held at in the village of Wybunbury (Pronounced Winbury). The village has a leaning church tower, just the tower remains. There are two pubs. If you want to enter the fig pie rolling I believe you need to buy a recipe and get an entry form. The pies are solid, about 8 inch diameter. Contestants take turns to roll the pie down a hill and the one which travels the greatest distance is the winner. Some of the Shropshire lads turn up and partake of the local waters and you can climb to the top of the tower and watch Morris Dancers frolic on the lawn. It's a bit like a May Day with pies. It's somewhere between the A500 and the A51, near to Nantwich. If you put 'Wybunbury Fig Pie' in your search box on the PC, you will turn up some information.
