To those of you who dont have any information on engine 16971 it actually started its conversion from a roller 18 years ago before the gold diggers got hold of doing this, it was bought part built where it was finished by the current owner and was steamed for 2 years in which a firebox was then needed. it then had a few years resting period untill 3 years ago where we started sorting things out, we decided fit the firebox ourselves, so this weekend was its first outing for over 10 years! in which blood sweat and tears all went into it and the chimney was fitted on friday afternoon before we roaded it from creaton. it was such a relief to see it finally back on the road, weve still got plenty to do but were all so happy it made it there in one piece and the owner who also owns the roller in the picture was over the moon.
