Yes steve a newbie to traction talk, i would be more into the fast things in life as you can see from my site, but hey i went to shanes castle and really loved it all that smoke-steam thing.

McLaren Compound Road Locomotive Built in 1917 Owned By Glynn Bros, Carlow, thats the only details i have

its no.1497 of 1917 came from patagonia south america.....

The second mclaren is number 1497 it is a 5hp 3 speed road locomotive . The engine has been completely rebuilt with new boiler , firebox , tender and belly tanks . It also has had new pistons rebore canopy . It is owned by the Glynn Family in Carlow and it will be exhibited at this years dorset steam fair along with mclaren 701 .
