Default Abbey Hill Steam Rally 2010

High standard of engines at Abbey Hill this year, 4 Scenic Burrell's - almost unheard of at anywhere other than Pickering/GDSF. In addition there was several engines that have not been out in a few years, and today was exactly 100 years to the day since Burrell Crane 3197 was despatched from Thetford.

Few of my favourite pictures are below.

Burrell Scenic 3884 "Gladiator" was making a rare rally appearance:

First appearance in 10 years for Burrell Tractor 3192

Brace of very similar Aveling Rollers, 5124 & 5623:

Aveling Compound Traction 8401, the first time I have seen this engine:

100 years old today:

All my other pictures are now on Steam Scenes.

I was about 10 miles down the road all weekend, hoping to get there, but ended up fencing a field in the rain instead!

Been for the last 3 or 4 years - it really is a very nice rally. Very disappointed to miss it.

Hi David,
On Saturday evening, another Foden wagon turned up and I take it that it was there for the rest of the weekend. Foden no.11414 C-type 'Freddie'.
If you need a picture of it I've got one.
Other than that, great photos and what a brilliant rally it was!
Thanks
Jim

Glad to see the Scenic out of Exmouth! Stands well. Hope they keep it in steam and its not just a one weekend only job.
