The geared down pump on an 8hp has a completely different third shaft RH bearing bracket. It is a massive cast affair and mounts the pump. It has a 2" plunger. It basically isn't possible to fit a geard down pump to an engine that didn't have one, unless you can source the corresponding "combined pump and intershaft bracket".

This is actually the pump off my engine, now on another.

As you can see, the plunger isn't that small.

The tractors have the geared down bit behind the flywheel, the gears drive a crank about the size of an Austin 7 crankshaft in a seperate casing with its own bronze bearings, and thence drives the pump by a connecting rod.

The pump casting itself has a flat bottom, and thus it would be fairly simple to make a bracket up to suit any application, provided of course it is understood the controls etc are handed. A direct drive off a eccentric with suitable throw would be fine.
