I would say the same, but why weld them? They allways seem to be welded, would bolting not be a better bet, I mean the shear strenth would be huge, and then when it does get bent, which it ultimateley will do, you can just bolt the ends on to a new piece of section, without a load of grinding.

We never use weld in a loaded area, bolts are the only way, as if something did happen, and you had welded, then it is ultimateley responsible, unless you are cirtificated maybe, but I don't know about that!

try a show that would have army surplus at the recent war and peace they had bars ranging in all sizes about 30-100 pounds each they also have the large folding a frame.The sortout at newbury also seen a few there.
Withams sv will do tem if you are in a rush.

I have an original ex army push pole with the correct eyes to fit the NATO hitches on your truck. (The agri pick up hitch eyes are too small to fit them!)
