Hi

I would say the same, but why weld them? They allways seem to be welded, would bolting not be a better bet, I mean the shear strenth would be huge, and then when it does get bent, which it ultimateley will do, you can just bolt the ends on to a new piece of section, without a load of grinding.

We never use weld in a loaded area, bolts are the only way, as if something did happen, and you had welded, then it is ultimateley responsible, unless you are cirtificated maybe, but I don't know about that!
