Its a Frame saw.

Reciprocates and cuts horizontally. Rather than the old rack saw which is rotary n cuts vertically.

This horizontal saw was built in the early 1900s. Made by Kirchner of Leipzig (Saxony, ex-GDR), it was supplied to Llangedwyn Mill (Oswestry) in mid-Wales. Originally powered by a waterwheel.
