Our local event is a small, friendly event with a small but interesting selection of engines and a busy working area set on the edge of Exmoor.
It's also within easy roading distance, so I get to help steam the engine the 12 or so miles over very interesting terrain!

Bringing it back to the top as it's on next weekend. Hope the weather stays good, because if things go to plan we could have as many as 6 full size engines this year!

They should include regular Ruston 'Corn Maiden', joined be Allchin 'Royal Chester'.
If transport comes together we may see 2 convertibles... Aveling 8624 and Burrell 3381 from the same stable.
And the final pair will be regular attender Wallis 'The Sheaf of Arrows' and Burrell 3903 'Excelsior' making it's first public appearance in steam for nearly 50 years, and probably only appearance before the returning to the shed to complete the restoration. These should be roading over on the saturday morning.

Hi Tom,

I think admission this year is:
5.50 adult
2.50 child
13.00 family which is up to 2 adults and 3 children

It's at Combesland Cross, which is just off the Bampton Road (B3277) a couple of miles out of South Molton. EX36 3NW should find it...

Steve

hi Steve,
Chester is still loaded from Abbey Hill, so just a bit of work in the morning, pack some food and I'll be over in the afternoon. Should be fun, I really like the road run, so beautiful down in the valley.
Mike.
