Default Tinkers Park

Blessed with sunshine most of the day despite a dodgy forecast yesterday, yet again an excellent rally.
Debut engine was Allchin 669 Bess of 1890.

Fowlers Nightmare

and Windsor

Sandringham also present but not steamable.
Burrell The Tinker

Aveling Porter Southern Queen

And from the sublime to the rediculous......................

Great to see Bess out and about again, what an interesting old engine she is. Glad that those pickering govenors have not been put back. I notice that the smokebox is an extension of the boiler barrel, wonder if it will be lagged?
Well done to Steve and all those involved.

Show guide says Ruth Atkinson of Essex. And that its an A8 Road loco with a R3 boiler & nothing fits Hence the name "Nightmare".

Its the perfect pub crawl engine, as you can fit loads in the tendor as they did on Saturday night, its also goes like stink.

Default Allchin "Bess"

Yes , she will have the lagging on, just didn't have time as steam test was only done last Wednesday evening. I am refitting the original 1890 sheets again. There will be two rolled plates that fix to the perch bracket and onto the door angle plate coming back, the first
brass band will cover the join between plates and lagging sheets. This is the original 1890design.
