Default Woody Bay Vintage Weekend 2012

Had an interesting afternoon looking around the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway at Woody Bay for their Vintage Weekend. 2 locomotives in steam, miniature railway and a couple of miniture steamers roaming around. Great to chat to a few people and even get a footplate ride on Kerr, Stuart & Co "Axe" A beautiful setting, and all this after a morning volunteering (wandering around the Riley cars visiting) Dunster Castle!

Looks a nice little rally in a very nice setting, how much of the L&B survives?

At the moment it is just a short section of track down from the station and back. But there are plans to extend back towards Barnstaple to Blackmore Gate, which talking to the volunteers is likely to be completed in the next couple of years.

The Ffestinog Railway have a Manning Wardle in the style of an L&B loco that visits from tme to time, and the Baldwin loco replica is also in progress, along with some L&B coaches. Not sure if much original rolling stock survives though...
