Coles Switchback Front

Possibly the only surviving set of pillars from a Switcback Front.

Dating from the turn of the century, these pillars formed the false frontage for James Coles spinning top Switcback. In their day they would have been joined by carved garlands and the four smaller pillars would have had carved figures that sat atop them. The ride itself was made by Savages of Kings Lynn, but the front would have been a later addition and the carving marks clearly say 'Bristol' (though not Anderson).

There are four of the smaller pillars and two complete larger central pillars. These I bought together, the other central pillar had been sold elsewhere. I was eventually able to locate and acquire it but by that time it had been cut in half and the top portion restored. It would not be impossible to strip the paint and rejoin it. It is included in the sale as I feel it important to try and keep the set together.

There are all around 12ft tall and will fit along the floor of a long wheelbase van. Exact measurements can be obtained on request.

I'm looking for offers around the £2,500 mark (£400 ish a piece for the complete ones, the halved one is a freebie). A good home is more important than the final price, so please do get in touch if they are of interest,
