A complete Rally Outfit consisting of Road Registered Traction Engine, Passenger Trailer and a custom made compact tilting Transportation Trailer.
A highly engineered and well-finished 4” Garrett Traction Engine to the design of R&J Whitehead. Boiler constructed by Sam Ward of Sheffield in 1997 and hydrauliced to 360lbs, complete with full constructional documentation and test history. Current Boiler Certificate valid until 18 Oct 2010 with no recommendations from the Boiler Inspector. A hansom, well-proportioned and free steaming engine that gives great pleasure to look at and to drive; she’s very much and “Engineman’s Engine”. Also fitted with LED Lamps to front and rear and illuminated footplate for dark evenings.
Passenger Trailer comprises 2 additional water tanks which can be coupled directly to the engine’s injector pipeline, increasing the range considerably for road runs. A seat can also be added which provides additional storage for tools etc underneath.
Tilting Transportation Trailer has been designed and custom made for one-man operation and uses the balance point of the engine to tilt from horizontal to unloading position effortlessly. The trailer is flanked either side by lockable storage boxes and is fitted with a hand pump which facilitates boiler filling on arrival at events. The Passenger Trailer is carried upside down on a metal framework above the engine and affords protection to the topworks of the engine when sheeted for transportation.
