Hello Marcus,

I'm afraid I cannot help you with the canopy but, when I owned it, the engine had a small stamped brass works plate on the plate that carries the pressure gauge. The two threaded holes must still be there. This plate was removed by a subsequent owner, Richard Parkinson, who collected such plates. It was well worn, or rubbed, by years of polishing. If you can contact him don't take no for a answer, he definitely removed the plate. He may well know the fate of the canopy.

I bought the roller from Richard Sandercock's father, (owner of Dingle Bros. Stokeclimesland) in July 1963. They had bought the roller from Exeter City Council, the original owners. I sold the roller to a Mr Ingleby Oddy. My name then was John Luxton. I subsequently took my mother's name, Sawle.

Best wishes,

John sawle
