Just got back from the skylark, my first rally as an exhibitor and also a never-seen-before show. Its a sort of mixed show with vehicles, bikes, tractors and steam, attendance is boosted massively on sunday by a mega car-boot in the next field. Even so, it was still quite busy on saturday.
Slightly lacking in organisation, it was still a very good show, plenty going on in the ring and loads of driving space, a big beer tent and plenty of food topped it off. Being in the middle of the Cambridgeshire Fenland area, the surrounds were lovely, and very flat!
The engine performed almost perfectly, a dicky feed-pump clack which heated the water tank stopping the injector working caused a bit of concern but with care i found i could manage easily on the feed-pump alone and it didn't stop the fun. The visitors loved the engine, it seems the rarity of little samsons attracts a lot of admirers
Met a couple of TT members too
Pictures to come.
