Default Stoke Prior Steam Rally 13th 14th 15th September

DATE WRONG!!!!!
Corrected below.

Stoke prior steam rally. 12th 13th 14 Sept.
Near Bromsgrove.

Last year was our first time there having been blown out from Old Warden after 20yrs of supporting that event. Last years weather was to say the least grim and the show seemed very poor. But we put the poor show down to the weather as previous Shakespears rallies we have attended were good. So will be there again this year.

Shaky is known as the rain maker :-) He's had a bad year this year.
I'll be there with my 3" Burrell "Bethania"
There will also be a large antenna mast by or van.
Come and say hello.

I don't think Shaky will be there this weekend. I have looked at the weather forecast and it going to be good. Maybe Keith has gone on holiday somewhere......We will be there tomorrow with the Atki and living van. Matt dropped the engine off there today.

So much for plans, our pooch has been taken quite seriously ill which will require surgery(possibly emergency)and trips into the vet over the w/e so we now will have to miss.

Default Stoke Prior Steam Rally 2014

We dropped by on our way back home from Friday and Saturday at Old Warden, with just seven engines a very different kind of experience but still very enjoyable.

A photoreport is available as usual:

One respect in which it outshone OW is that the beer was just 80% of the price - OW's prices were definitely taking the piss.

Phil and Christine who run the bar at Stoke Prior always keep there prices acceptable and have always been that way at whatever rally or show they have attended. I'm not blowing there trumpet, but more rally's need to take them on board. They run a good bar at realistic prices. Greed at some rally's isn't acceptable but it happens. Some organisers are not bothered how good and cheap the bar is, as long as they get the rent. On an evening you want a good bar and realistic prices. Not over inflated prices with crap beverages. IMO Phil and Christine are the best in the business. They cater for the exhibitors as well as the public.
