Somerset Traction Engine Club 50th Anniversary Steam party, October 3rd 2009
The 50th Anniversary Steam Party, for Club members, friends and invited guests, was at Netherham Farm, Low Ham, Langport, home of the Club's 'Somerset Steam Spectacular' Rally for the last 31 years. The Club was first named as such in September 1959, though the people who started it had been organising Taunton Rallies since 1955.
Four steamers present: Fowler 1368, Margaret  Sentinel S4 9032  Foden 13752, Reliance  Aveling and Porter 8376, Princess Victoria  Also this Ford Dexta tractor...  Meanwhile, Club President Bill Briggs and his good lady found this half size Series One to play with - hand built, aluminium body, not from a kit, by Neil Troake, looking on at right. Super little vehicle - Suffolk Punch engine.
