Have to agree with all of the above. The games were great fun, and much enjoyed by participants and public alike. There seemed to be a few dubious practises (I hesitate to say cheating) going on, which all added to the entertainment. The weather today was a very different story, with torrential rain. However the arena was still a busy place. The winching demonstration was excellent with the Marshall roller eventually winding four engines up the arena before over riding the scotches. No mean feat on increasingly wet ground. The engine parade also continued as per normal and all those involved deserve the praise. Good to see the Burrell gold medal tractors hauling the big boys about. Any way, here are a few pics.

On behalf of the organisers of the Dial Post Rally I would like to thank all of those involved, all the helpers, organisers, exhibitors, traders, visitors and everyone else who has helped us or supported us in anyway, as without all of your help we would not have been able to put on this show. Thank you also for all of the positive and constructive comments that have been posted on TT. We appreciate all of your feedback and are ecstatic that so many people seemed to enjoy our first event. Please check the website for photos from Wednesday onwards. And thanks again!!!!!
Anne

Just returned from the rally after roading back to horsham last night. Where do you start, what a well run rally there wasnt any high vis jackets escorting engines from their spot into the arena, you were allowed to run around the site at your own free will. The organisers didnt mind if you parked outside a tent while you and your crew took refreshment. The arena games on saturday were good and yes I may have cheated a bit in some of the games but we were there to entertain the public which I think we did. This rally was what they were like 25 plus years ago. That was when you were allowed to use your common sense when moving your engine around. Other organisations should take note that it possible to put a traditional traction engine rally on in the 21st century, A very big thankyou to all those involved in puting on this wonderful event .

Glad you enjoyed it Martin. Good to meet you, and yes, I agree, you all entertained the public magnificently, continuing to do so in the downpours on Sunday.
