Recommended ; their details are in the ' Suppliers ' section here on TT . If you can get an order together with a couple of mates then the unit price will come down a lot . It may not need to be square section wire . They are competant to work it all out for you .

I have been thinking of changing mine in the Aveling as well - so that would make a couple of sets required.

If you need to make the numbers up I need a pair for the XAC tractor and a pair for the 'B' type as well.

All the best.

When I needed some girder fork springs for a big 20's V twin Royal Enfield I looked at the United Kingdom Spring Makers Association (U.K.S.M.A) site and found just the place in Redditch. There is a heap of manufacturers on there and one, Harris Springs, in your neck of the woods.

Thanks for that Bob, a valid point and well worth knowing.

Are there some specifics to having a spring for a safety valve in terms of material spec. hardening properties etc. etc. ?

Tested Spring made stainless ones for our Marshall. I also have a spare pair in steel as father was not convinced they would work.

I've been to the works a number of times now, they seem interested in heritage work, the office wall is plastered in pictures from happy customers. As Bob said they will do all the working out for you, provided you can provide details of your application.

A lot of these firms you are just another 'customer', your sample my be precious to you, but to them its just a spring.
