Default Steam at The Green, Warwickshire - 19th October 2013

Hi all,

Steam at The Green:

There will be a small informal gathering of steam engines at The Green Man, Long Itchington, Warwickshire on Saturday 19th October 2013. This is just a short pub run for a couple of local engines and one visiting engine plus any others that wish to attend or any other vintage/classic vehicles.

This is the same weekend as the Midlands Model Engineering Exhibition which is close by so an ideal stop off after the show to see some full size engines, enjoy a decent pint in a lovely pub and village.

If you would like more details or to bring a vehicle along, please pm me or post on here.

Many thanks,

Tom

Is this gathering still on? If so, who is going? I will come along to take some photos and have a chat - assuming it is still on.

Michael,

Apologies I missed your post in time, I hope you didn't have a wasted trip as a result. We still went ahead with taking Thomas Baines' (Ruston-Tom) Ruston & Hornsby Steam Roller to the pub on Saturday but unfortunately for numerous reasons other engines were unable to attend this year.

Best Regards,

Tom

Dad popped by late afternoon on his way back from Dunstable, you were sheeted up by then, but he said it was nice to see a Ruston roller so close to home (as he once had a share in 114059 with Flagwasher of this parish and a couple of others). Hope you can grow the event - we might even try and fetch one of the rollers down for it and road it from parents' house - very tempted to do it with the Wallis diesel

I had a great informal weekend thanks to Cheeseroller and Mark the landlord. Shame your dad missed us, there was a thunderstorm with a cloud burst at about 5 so we decided to go back to Cheeseroller's for a shower before heading back to the pub. We then roaded 27 mile run yesterday.

A couple of my photos...

Tom's series 1 was looking the part too.

Tom,

No, I didn't go in the end mainly due to my medication not working as well as it should; some days are better than others. Hopefully something can be arranged for next year - Warwickshire has very few working engines and it is good to see machines out and about in the county.
