Default Torbay Steam Fair - Sun 2 Aug 2015

I popped into Torbay rally on my way back West this afternoon, after fighting my way through Torquay's never ending roadworks. The rally seemed bigger this year, nice working area. A few photographs that I managed to grab in the couple of hours I was there:

Thanks to engine owners and organisers for putting on the show.

Sadly, due to family circumstances I was unable to go to Torbay this year. However, if things sort themselves out I will be at Stithians in two weeks time.

Indeed it was excellent and my pictures of the 'working engines' should be compulsory viewing for all organisers of steam sections and working areas at those other steam rallies that pay lip service to the concept.. It's not the number of engines you have, it's how you display them that matters.

They were very popular with the visitors, to the extent that it was fortunate that as always for photography the best light was 'early and late'.

Great pic on the review page gutted I could get to this one, had to listen to the tales this morning of how good it was, good run on Fri plus a good pub run sat and great playpen action Sunday.

Yep, it was a great show. Good to hear the playpen area was used a bit more on the Sunday. Potential there for a really good area, as that is a reasonably steep hill. Could be good in years to come.
