Default Fairground Artwork

Hi Folks
As part of the ongoing tidy up in Devon, the FHT are disposing of a few pieces that we are unlikely to make use of and are taking up space. Funds raised will go directly to improving the collection (not operational costs).
These items are not part of the formal collection and we have decided not to accept them into that collection. If we do not get any interest then they will go to auction later in the year, we'd prefer them to go to genuine enthusiasts / collectors if possible.
We have the two remaining panels from Pashleys Pea Stall, most of the stall was lost in the chaos of the last few decades and this is all that is left on site now. One may be retained yet for the collection.
Not part of the FHT disposal but also available on site (and needing to be cleared by a private owner) are a number of Hall & Fowle Rounding Boards from Bert Stocks, later Pearsons Speedway. I think there are up to 8 available either as a set or individually.
We have two sets of Fowle, Big Wheel A Frame panels ex Webbs Big Wheel. Condition is not excellent, the artwork would need a lot of work to bring it back to its orginal vibrancy. The are 6 hinged panels in all. We will consider offers for the complete set, each set of 3, or individual hinged pairs. Preference will be given to keeping them in sets at the very least.
Offers to be made by PM or email secretary@fairground-heritage.org.uk all offers will be treated in the strictest confidence and we'd like to conclude this process in the next couple of weeks. Please do not post offers online.
All pieces are in Devon, though it is possible they could be moved to Cambridge either in mid March or mid June.
I would ask that comments citicising the trustees for disposals are kept to a minimum if they must be made. A lot of thought goes into these decisions and it is about the wider picture of best protecting the collection and ensuring its future. If we keep things we must look after them, this costs time and money.
None of these items to the best of our knowledge were donated to the Trust, so please have no worries if you wish to donate in the future - any donation can be made subject to a return clause, and we offer this to all donors. In the overwhelming majority of cases its must be stressed we rarely accept anything that we may one day wish to dispose of, these disposals are a legacy of past chaotic and unmanaged collecting of anything that was available, we are much more selective nowadays
We have a collections disposal policy in line with Arts Council accreditation standards should anyone wish to peruse it (though none of the above items fall within its scope as they are not part of the collection).
