Just a suggestion as I don't know what the 'GMT' is.

I bought a near new cable drum trailer with a 2.5 ton rated axle. I put a bed on it and altogether it only cost me £400 albeit some 15 years ago. Cable drum trailers often come up cheap once a particular contact has ended. I bought mine from an eBay advert and even had the original receipt from when it was bought new so I was fairly happy that it wasn't nicked.

I still use the trailer regularly and it has proved to be one of my better ideas.

Cheers Carl.

Thanks Carl, I will investigate that option. The GMT is a Gold Medal Tractor, in my case a 6" scale one, hence a plant trailer rather than low loader trailer.

cheers

Hi Andy

Ah, that would probably rule out a cable drum trailer as I guess the 6" Gold Medal would exceed the load rating of any single axle trailer.

Cheers Carl.

The Gold Medal is a small 6" and weighs just under a ton. In roller form it will be closer to 1.25 tons.

Hi Andy

Ah, lighter than I thought. Check out my original suggestion - it may well be a cheap option.

Cheers Carl.

We have a Wessex twin axle plant trailer for sale Andy. It's very similar to an Ivor Williams. All galvernised with drop and detachable sides and comes with 8ft ramps. It's around 6ft or just over wide and 12ft long internal. Tyres are all good as are the brakes. Price is £900 ono.
