Smile Nene Valley Steam and Vintage Rally 15th&16th June 2019

This year the Nene Valley railway will be holding its first steam and vintage rally for many years on the 15th & 16th June. The rally will be held the railway’s main Wansford Station site where we are hoping to have wonderful array of steam and vintage exhibits on display alongside our operating heritage railway. Service trains will be running daily from 10am hauled by Battle of Britain Class Locomotive “92 Squadron” and “Thomas” will be in steam offering return trips to Yarwell Junction where there is a wonderful picnic area to relax with the family. A special evening real ale train being operated in association with The Battle of Britain Locomotive Society which will see Bullied light pacific class locomotive 92 Squadron hauling the service train so come and enjoy a nice evening with a pint or tipple and enjoy the live music at Wansford when you return. The live music planned is not to be missed.

Steam crane demonstrations will be taking place in the yard with our 40ton Ransomes and Rapier steam crane operating. Family attractions of a craft fair and trade stalls will also be on site at Wansford as well as children’s fairground rides, play area and our superb Café. Our event is going to be a great day out for all the family, public and exhibitors alike. If you would like more information please see our website www.nvr.org.uk. For all exhibitor and trade enquiries please contact Jamie Allen via Telephone 01780 784444 or email mechanicalfitter@nvr.org.uk
