Default Bressingham Heritage Steam Gala 4th - 6th May

These are a few pictures from the first day of this event and the pub run. They are carefully chosen as being the best I happened to get!

Here is part of the line-up, showing (L to R) Garrett agricultural 'Felsted Belle': unidentified (By me that is. Where's your registration plate?) Ransomes, Sims & Jefferies agricultural: Bressingham's own Burrell DCC roller 'Buster': Burrell SCC 'The Duchess'.

A half-size version of Burrell's prototype 3 ton 'Special Light Traction Engine' of 1898, trying to look big in front of the line-up, with Burrell SCC agricultural no. 2770 to the left.

A close-up of The Duchess, now carrying the name of her (relatively) new owners.

Burrell SCC and Felsted Belle.

Some engines look wonderful, restored to 'better then new' condition. However there is a special charm about one that looks used but cared for, like Marshall agricultural 'Bessie'.

The sheer bulk of a ploughing engine is always impressive. This is Fowler AA7 'Cissie'. Her partner is another 'Bessie' - not currently in steam.

Wallis & Steevens 'Advance' roller 'Duke of Ellington'.

Ruston & Hornsby agricultural 'Oliver' plus load.

Also on its way to the pub, lovely 4 ins Burrell DCC road loco 'Mary Rose'.

Felsted Belle arriving on Fair Green, Diss, in front of 'The Cock' pub.

The Ransomes, also with load.

And the Duke of Ellington.

Mary Rose on Fair Green.

Cissie attracting an audience.

Felsted Belle backing up to its van after a run round the Green.

A sight never before seen on Fair Green but, hopefully, it will be again.

Sorry if I'm overdoing one engine, but I thought that Mary Rose going home made a lovely picture.

Bill.
